Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage uses firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). It's used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
Sports massage is a form of massage designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of sports massage, prior to and after exercise, may enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury.
Trigger Point Myotherapy
Trigger points are described as hyperirritable spots in the fascia surrounding skeletal muscle. They are associated with palpable "knots" in taut bands of muscle fibres. Therapy can involve deep pressure directly upon the trigger point or the use of dry needling.
